Salma Hayek’s daughter Valentina Pinault has scored her first-ever Vogue cover at the tender age of 14 — right alongside her movie star mom.

Valentina and Salma, 55, share this month’s cover of Vogue Mexico, where the genetically-blessed pair pout side-by-side with matching long lashes and glossy pouts.

In an interview conducted in Spanish, Salma opens up about coming to motherhood later in life, how her daughter steals her clothes, and what she thinks about Valentina following in her Hollywood footsteps.

Meanwhile, Valentina reveals her dreams of becoming an actress and a director, but also stresses the importance of helping others, which she does through volunteering at a soup kitchen.

Both mother and daughter gave designer clothes for the photoshoot, though Valentina insisted she often wears sweats.

Still, she does benefit from her mother’s closet of designer clothes — furnished in part by dad François-Henri Pinault’s company, which owns fashion brands including Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Alexander McQueen, and Yves Saint Laurent.

‘We fight over clothes because she takes everything from my closet,’ Salma said.

‘Since she was little she never let me choose her clothes, and I always liked that,’ Salma added. ‘[And] she’s very good with makeup. I’m good at makeup, but now she teaches me.’

The pair have more in common than just clothes: They also both speak Spanish, and like to do so to speak privately in public.

‘When we are with more people I like it because it is like a secret because nobody speaks Spanish, because with my dad I speak French,’ Valentina said.

What’s more, Valentina wants to follow her mom into Hollywood, first as an actress and then as a director.

She will no doubt have a leg up thanks to her parents, but Valentina also talked about how importat it is to be passionate about fixing the world’s problems. In particular, she is moved by the problem of homelessness, ‘because I have friends who don’t have a home.’

To that end, she volunteers at a soup kitchen — and the people she has met there have opened her eyes.

‘I learned that each person who is homeless has a different story,’ she said. ‘Everyone assumes they are homeless because of drugs or because they don’t work.

‘What’s more, when you see someone sleeping on the street they have the same reaction: you’re sorry, but you don’t want to get close. I think it’s important to get closer and listen rather than ignore them and believe that it’s not your problem or our problem.’

Elsewhere in the interview, Salma opened up about becoming a mother in her 40s, saying that by that point in her life she felt that she ‘had already done many things in my life’ and was ‘proud of’ her accomplishments.

In fact, when she became a mom, she was ready to give up her acting career altogether — but her husband convinced her to get back to work ‘because at some point I might miss my profession’ and ‘it allows me to unleash my creativity, and because I am an artist.’
